FEDERATION OF WESTERN OUTDOOR CLUBS

1998 FWOC Resolution No. 10:

National Monument for Owyhee Canyonlands

The Owyhee Canyonlands in Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada area among the most spectacular and remote areas in the United States and are unique in their scenic and environmental values.  Because the military threatens to use portions of the Canyonlands as a bombing range, they must be protected as soon as possible.
The Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs re-affirms its 1995 Resolution #5 and asks President Clinton to declare the Owyhee Canyonlands a National Monument.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ACTION: The FWOC urges its member clubs and members to call or write President Clinton immediately and request that he declare the Owyhee Canyonlands a National Monument.
