Family Trips in Wilderness
|
|
| The availability of
wilderness areas for inexpensive an delightful family trips on foot has
been almost completely overlooked by state tourism agencies, travel
agencies, and the media in their publicity about summer travel
opportunities. Such trips by families in wilderness areas
(utilizing local guides where the family is not experienced in
wilderness travel) would, if properly planned and executed, be a
wonderful experience for the family and would be relatively easy on the
family's finances. |

| The Federation of Western
Outdoor Clubs suggest that state tourism agencies, travel agencies, and
the media give some of their publicity efforts to promoting this type
of low impact group travel in wilderness areas. |
