LOWER COLUMBIA RIVER WATER TRAIL

A 146-mile, nonmotorized water trail has been proposed on the Columbia River from Bonneville Dam to the Pacific Ocean. This trail would permit recreationists to experience the route taken by Lewis and Clark, enjoy the scenery of the Columbia River gorge from the river, and observe wildlife along the shore. Hiking, picnicking, and bird watching could also be enjoyed along the route. The campsites which are associated with the water trail would be reserved for those using nonmotorized watercraft.

The Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs supports establishment of the Lower Columbia River water trail.
